I used to be pretty good pals with Steve Rude back in the early 90s when we both lived in L.A. That’s why it made perfect sense that he’d be the first artist to do something in my sketchbook. I asked for The Guardian one of my favorite minor characters from Kirby’s Fourth World. I loved the whole clone aspect and how weird Jimmy Olsen had suddenly become.
The “practical joker” note comes from me crank calling him a couple of times. Ha.
