And so it begins…

And so it begins…

I guess that’s a silly, overly-serious title for this first post on my website, but I’ve been known to be both silly and overly-serious, so there’s that. I wish there was something profound or exciting to say at this initial juncture, but all the exciting things I have upcoming are for the “News” section that I’ll get to next. More will come, I promise, this first post is just to get something on the site. I won’t be launching this site until I’ve posted a bit more on here, anyway, so this will be a redundant post at that time. Two or so weeks from now when this is up for all to see there will be many more posts and self-indulgent crap from me to you. You’re welcome.

So until then, hello. I love you all and I hope this site gives you a better insight into my work both past and future.

As Mark Twain said, “The secret to getting ahead is getting started.” Of course, as this somewhat advanced point in my life and career I probably should have taken Mr. Clemen's secret to heart a bit earlier.

I wasn’t sure what image to include here, but then the light above me staining the popcorn roof of my study caught my eye. The light and dark of the surface reminded me of an alien landscape of sorts, lit by a strange, otherworldly sun. Why not? I thought. Post that. (Also, it reminds me I need to replace that hideous light with something nicer.)

Steve Rude does The Guardian

I used to be pretty good pals with Steve Rude back in the early 90s when we both lived in L.A. That’s why it made perfect sense that he’d be the first artist to do something in my sketchbook. I asked for The Guardian...
